The greatest joys in life are experienced in happy family relationships... the cultivation of a happy home requires effort and energy, forgiveness and patience, love and endurance and sacrifice, but it is worth all of this and more. -Gordon B. Hinkley

day camping

last saturday, we got up bright & early (oh, that was so hard to do!) and headed up to the mountains at 6 am. i'm so glad we did. it was beautiful and such a wonderful day.   each family did a meal.  we "camped" right next to the creek which lead to the lake.  the ice cold lake.  we were above 10,000 ft.

i love colorado and i am so thankful for friendships that bless my families lives so much.

we arrived in shorts, but quickly put on pants.  it was cold at 10,000 ft @ 7am!

it didn't take long before the kids were braving the freezing cold water to climb on the rock!

a beautiful backdrop don't you think???!

lulu & soph

all the kids wet clothes drying in the sun (that happens pretty fast at 10,000 ft!)

of coarse kari came prepared with crafts!  paper plate faces & rock painting.  she is awesome!

Thanks for coming with us!! It was such a fun time. Who needs tents and sleeping bags? I think that I've been converted to day camping!
