The greatest joys in life are experienced in happy family relationships... the cultivation of a happy home requires effort and energy, forgiveness and patience, love and endurance and sacrifice, but it is worth all of this and more. -Gordon B. Hinkley

CO. Springs

Oma, Opa & Marlies arrived on Tuesday afternoon. We had been anxiously awaiting their arrival!! We meant to head out early Wed. morning to CO Springs, but the girls took a "quick" trip to Target to get a few things. Is there such a thing as quick trips to Target, really?? So we got a bit of a late start.

We headed down to CO. Springs around noon and it's about a 70 minute drive. Andy & dad drove in the van with the kids and the ladies drove in the car together, with lots of good conversation. I loved it.

We meant to do a few different things while we were there, but Garden of the Gods consumed our day. It was amazing, to say the very least. It was h-h-hot that day but we endured in the name of exploration! Truly, this place is incredible. The pictures just don't do it justice.

this is the view from the visitors center balcony

notice the pink cheeks? h-h-hot.

TIRED & hot. We headed to Red Robin for dinner! A first time for the Holland people. It did not disappoint!

We did stop by the Air Force Academy on our way out but the visitors center was closed. It was really cool anyways, just driving around. We did get out a few times to see the jets.

It was a great day together. More pictures to come...
