The greatest joys in life are experienced in happy family relationships... the cultivation of a happy home requires effort and energy, forgiveness and patience, love and endurance and sacrifice, but it is worth all of this and more. -Gordon B. Hinkley

Rian's Prom 2016

Rian was invited to prom with a group of her senior girl friends from swim/school.  They went dress shopping (Rian got her dress at Ross for $20 and it was beautiful! I was so proud of her for that!) and got manicures together and I took her shopping for jewelry (with $ from auntie ang!) and all the getting ready stuff was just really fun! Rian is so down to earth and fun and I was so proud of her on every level.
Prom was scheduled to happen earlier in April and at the last minute was rescheduled due to a big snow storm and the fact that a big 4/20 (pot) festival was happening across the street from the venue on the original date so they decided to reschedule.  Luckily, the manicure held out for an extra 2 weeks!
Getting ready was so fun.  I did Rian's hair and she did her own makeup and it was just low key and wonderful.  I love that girl!  She looked so absolutely beautiful and even though it was such a fun experience all around (for me) it still tugged at my heart quite a bit to see her drive away after we did pictures... just like that, off to her first prom.  Where does the time go?!
