The greatest joys in life are experienced in happy family relationships... the cultivation of a happy home requires effort and energy, forgiveness and patience, love and endurance and sacrifice, but it is worth all of this and more. -Gordon B. Hinkley

February on the little camera

February went by in a blur, as it usually does only this year more so I think. My little camera seems to be the best way for me to record/remember what happens in our every day lives these days.  So here goes February on the little camera...

I'm not 100% sure if this picture was taken in early Feb or late Jan, but I love it either way.  I was shoveling the driveway before taking Cali to school and the girls cam out to play in the snow.  I love that Lucy is still in her pj's, with snow boots and a scarf to keep her warm!  Love these little girls so much!

Then there was the blue and gold dinner for the boys.  Sam got to participate this year since he will be turning 8 in April, I can hardly believe that!  It was a Hawaiian theme and Andy helped them each make a cake.  I encouraged him to "keep it simple" and I was proud of him for actually doing that.

cake close-ups.  Sam added some ninjago's to his cake of coarse!

The little girls went too and fun was had by all!

Rian played YW basketball and I went to a few games.  The team is 90% beehives (12-13 year old girls) with not a single aggressive bone in their bodies, but they played with heart and had fun and that is a winning team if you ask me!

After one of Rian's games, we took the family to pinkberry for her birthday.  Everyone loves pinkberry in this family and that makes me very happy!  Yummmmmy!

Rian got make-up for her birthday (though she doesn't need it!).  She is 13 now, an official teenager.  How did that happen??
She of coarse is sweet enough to include her siblings in her little party and even let Cali have a friend over too!  What a wonderful, beautiful girl Rian is!

I tried to make Valentines day special this year.  I made little treats for the kids (I remember my mom doing this and it made me feel loved and I wanted my kids to feel that too) and a special red & pink dinner.
Here is Lucy with her little treat box.  She promised to always be my Valentine and I'm holding her to that!!

Dinner, consisting of heart pizza, strawberries, raspberry jello, pink juice, pink cupcakes and candle light.  It was a fun family dinner, even though Andy and I weren't in the most loving mood toward each other.  But I will keep that for my personal memories! ;)

The kids had favorite color day at school for spirit week and we worked with the colors we had!  I thought they all did a great job and looked so cute.  It was a nice break from uniforms around here!

I took this pictures on Friday morning right after Torrie and I arrived at the hospital.  Everything was just fine and then all of a sudden 4 doctors and 2 nurses were rushing into the room and putting needles into Jaimeson's chest to remove a large quantity of air that had suddenly accumulated outside his lungs.  It was scary and poor Torrie had to witness it as his mother.  But all turned out fine and thank goodness we were at one of the best Children's hospitals in the country!
That is one tough little guy!

1:00 church is a killer for us and we are still adjusting.  Lucy and I fell asleep during family scripture and prayer time one Sunday night.  Rian took these pictures of us and I am so glad she did!
I have never been much of a co-sleeper with my kids.  I am a very light sleeper and though I have tried a few times, really don't enjoy sleeping with my kids.  I always send them over to Andy's side of the bed!
But them came Lucy. ;)  And she is such a good sleeping companion, I just can't refuse her.  I LOVE to cuddle and sleep with her.  It is rare that the kids come into our bed, but she is the one child that I let get into my side of the bed if she does come in.  These pictures of us sleeping together on the couch are so funny and I just love that Rian captures this moment!

Grandpa came to visit and see Jaimeson and spend time at the hospital with us.  It was great to have him here!!
Of coarse, we all love holding Jaimeson!!

Finally some real snow!  The kids played outside after school and had so much fun.

Cali & Trace threw snow in Rian's face and she was trying to be mad about it!  But she got her revenge. :)

Jaimeson came home!  Here he is during a quick visit to our house.

Me and Lucy twins for church.  We actually never made it to church on Sunday because of the blizzard that was going on.  Andy started to shovel the driveway and decided we wouldn't make it out of the neighborhood so we all got our pj's back on and stayed home.
