The greatest joys in life are experienced in happy family relationships... the cultivation of a happy home requires effort and energy, forgiveness and patience, love and endurance and sacrifice, but it is worth all of this and more. -Gordon B. Hinkley

Our Christmas Party

We had a Christmas party on Saturday night at our house with a bunch of couples from our ward. Luckily, we have Leslie (all our friends can only wish they had a friend as fantastic as Leslie!) who willingly took all of our kids (-Lucy, we kept her since she goes to bed at 6:30 anyway) to her house with a frozen pizza, a movie, popcorn and candy. Of coarse the kids ADORE Leslie and were looking forward to their movie night all week (even more so than their breakfast with Santa, really!). Thanks Les, you are the best and we love you.

So back to the party... honestly there are so many cool couples in our ward that it can be a little intimidating to throw a party. But we did and it was so much fun.

Good food (really good food), like meatballs, deserts overflowing & bacon covered sausages... ummm, hello?! Seriously, heaven! There was great conversation, lots of laughs and we played our famous family Cut-Throat gift exchange game. Who ever thought an avocado slicer would be so popular?! And who thought that the pregnancy tests would be left for grabs in the middle of the group of a bunch of Mormons?! I laughed so hard it hurt!

Though we are far away from our families out here in Colorado, we feel so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing friends in our ward "family". Not all who were invited could attend, (and they were missed!) but I am so grateful for those who took time out of their busy holiday to spend an evening with us... Love you all!

Thanks for the fun time Jen and Andy! Just wanted to officially proclaim to any and all who look at this picture, that the cheesy Christmas sweaters were a joke (but so much fun!) Thanks again for the rockin' party!

So much fun! The white elephant game was hilarious! And in the end, I did end up grabbing the ovulation and pregnancy tests. :) Thanks for putting together such a fun night!
