The greatest joys in life are experienced in happy family relationships... the cultivation of a happy home requires effort and energy, forgiveness and patience, love and endurance and sacrifice, but it is worth all of this and more. -Gordon B. Hinkley

The Broken Face

By popular demand (ok, just from my family), the broken face pictures.

In the ER... mostly just a smashed face... little bruising or swelling.

12-23-09

Later that same day, obvious black eye and I am trying to get an angle to show the smashed cheek bone. Lower cheek starting to swell.

Day 2. Bloody swollen eye, more cheek swelling.

I haven't gotten any pictures yet today because I really don't think he is in the mood today for pictures. He woke up in a lot of pain and a bit sad too I think because he just can not play with the kids and all their new stuff (Lego's, transformers, etc.) the way he wants to. He barely ate half of the cinnamon roll I made this morning because his jaw is hurting bad (shooting pains when he chews) and I worry that my already skinny husband will soon shrivel away.

We will see the plastic surgeon on Monday to see how he will go about repairing the bones structure.

Thank you for all who have showed their love and concern for Andy. We have so much to be grateful for this Christmas!

BTW- fractured cheek and orbit bone (under eye) due to a friendly game of church basketball.

Ok, so Andy woke up and let me take a picture... Christmas day. Noonish.

Oh church sports. Basketball season this year is taking Jesse away one night a week for games, one for practice and I always dread the annual rolled ankle, but this story really takes the cake. He beat Jesse's church softball fat lip for sure!!

Jen...just seeing what was new with you and saw Andy's poor eye! Monte had the same thing happen...broken eye socket...when Ryan (23) was brand new! He got the lovely elbow in the eye! The bad thing..is he didn't even know for 2 years! It healed up and when he got a bad sinus thing they x-rayed his face and told us!
Church basketball is the only meeting that starts with a prayer! :)

You all look wonderful and I miss seeing you!
